In recent years I have added photography. Different tools, same goal: to focus on something important to me and to communicate to others why. Articles and/or photos have been published in a range of media including: The New York Times The Nation The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ColorLines Rethinking Schools Degrees: BA in Journalism, Masters in English Literature, and Associates Degree in Photography. Awards: various, in both writing and photography. My most recent photography award was a 2008 Mary L. Nohl Fellowship, Emerging Artist category. This website focuses on my photography.
